Who I am

I was born in 1956 and, since the age of 8, I had been fascinated of everything regarding electricity, discovering later the radio with my first handmade pyrite detector for short waves.

I was enjoyed relaying morse signals throught the house meadow, as well without any knowledge of meanings.

At 16, while I was studying at the secondary school, due to the courtesy of I2PMD, I interested myself on how to get the permission to operate as radio ham.

Quickly arrived the time for exams and the preparation was enough to pass them, so I achiving the desired document. It was 1975.

I bought my first receiver, a Drake R4C of which I was deeply attracted while, in the mean time, awaiting to leave for army service, I had way to operate as second operator of I2VGT and I2OCK (silent key), not before requesting my personal licence to the Ministery of Telecommunications.

The licence arrived just 5 months before the end of the army service, so able to be operative while ended it up.

At that time, so young (20), it was to much expencive buying everything necessary, so I found a used transmitter (ERE XT600b) the which was delivering 300 W of output power and building my homebrew 12 meters triangular pylon, the which on the top of it, I installed two monoband antennas (15 and 10 m) and lying two dipoles (40 and 80 m).

I was operative mainly in CW, at late evening too, while it was easy to establish a contact with DX stations on 40 and 80 metri.
